Why is Sony Third/last place?
They so gamers so much love with amazing hardware, and HUNDREDS of original IP.
Poor Sony, a bad launch, coming out a year after the 360, and a high initial price point totally ruined your goals for world domination.
Still, if Sony were to release the PS4 at the same time as the 720 or just before, then we could see an even fight next time...
I live in a rural village. Its great to be able to get a movie or game without travelling 4 miles to the 'local' shop.
I'd buy a console for Shenmue 3.
The franchise has a HUGE fan following. Millions signed an online petition a few years back saying they would pay for a sequel. Shenmue 1 was a success. It sold very well for the Dreamcast. It cost too much to make and the install base for the console was too small to create a finacial success, but that was SEGA's fault, not Shenmue's. The better the specs, the more potential for new gameplay experiences. Personally, i'd rather have 16 core CPU, 8GB og RAM, and a kickass graphics card over a pad with a small LCD screen in its center any day of the week...

I could live without another Sony handeld quite easily, but the world NEEDS Playstation consoles.
At the moment Sony is on the ropes. IF M$ were to announce the 720 this year, Sony would not be able to respond. They are stuggling on all fronts. All M$ have to do is turn up the pressure and launch their next gen console sooner than expected and its KO for Sony.
Fortunately for gamers, M$ seem more focused on building a quality console with a great line of lau...
At this point, I'd make it a PS4 launch game.
M$ win in the U.S for sure, just like Sony wins in Japan and Europe. I don't see the PS3 overtaking the 360 in worldwide sales until M$ release the 720. Eventually though, Sony will equal, then pass 360. Its inevitable. Sony sell consoles in territories the 360 hasn't even heard of. The PS2 is still a great seller in India for example...
But by that point who will care other than Sony?
The fanboys will be busy fighting the 720 VS PS4 war at that point.

Activision will just port the 360 version of COD over to the 720 next year with a little more shine. I expect a lot of this to be happening in the first 6 months of the 720 lifespan.
Cage is a legend. Controls are a problem, but heavy rain had a great mature storyline with well developed characters.

Vita is flop for a number of reasons.
Its too expensive.
Its a bit too big to carry in your pocket.
The games are basic PS3 ports. There's no innovation, no gimmick like the 3DS has to shift units and create interesting games.
I don't think the masses want to play console games on the go. They favour shorter, pick-up-and-play experiences.
Vita is an anchor dragging the 'Playstation Family' down.
